available to new postgraduate students

IMPORTANT INFORMATION:
• Applicants with conditional offers can only register once the offer is confirmed by the faculty. Please ensure that all your certified copies of your official transcript and or degree certificate has been uploaded to complete your application process. You may only proceed with registration once a favourable outcome is available on your application. Contact [email protected] for any queries.
• Curriculum Advice for Coursework Programmes must be discussed with your programme convenor the contact details are available in the handbook. While the system will only open for 2021 registration from the 15th of February 2021, you may start liaising with your department from 01 February 2021 to expedite your registration process on the specified dates below.
• International and SADC students: All new and returning international students must liaise with Academic Programmes Office (IAPO) via
[email protected] and obtain pre-registration clearance by presenting proof of paymet of fees, passport, study visa and proof of medical insurance prior to registering.
• Outstanding Fees: Students with fee debts must produce a fee clearance letter prior to registration. These are obtainable from the Fees Office (fnd- [email protected]). Refer to the Fees handbook for any other fee-related queries.
• Masters by research (100% dissertation) and PhD students – new and returning: Masters and PhD students registering for a dissertation/thesis must complete their Memorandum of Understanding (MoU)/Progress and Planned Activity (PPA) report prior to registering. You will receive notice of the new online MOU/PPA process before registration. Returning students registering for research degrees must register no later than 26 March 2021. • New and returning PG Diploma, Honours and Coursework Masters students: Students registering for coursework degrees must do so by the dates
stipulated in the table below. Masters students registering for a minor dissertation must complete their MOU/PPA before registering.
• Late registration: A late registration fee of R 2000 will automatically be charged to your fee account if you register after the dates specified below. Only the Dean can waive the late registration penalty and only in exceptional circumstances which must be fully motivated in writing.
• Initial fee payments: An initial fee payment is required by Friday 12 March 2020. If payment is not received on or before the due date, a late payment fee of 10% of unpaid amount will be charged.
