Social Networks Analysis: Influence

In the traditional media audience matters, authority matters and content goes one way (broadcasting paradigm). Is it the same in social media? Is content a driver of influence? What are the characteristics of content that help increase influence?

Content is modeled in terms of:

• Sentiment (positive, negative, neutral)

• Use of multimedia as part of content (pictures or videos)

Some results:

• negative tweets seem to be more retweeted and attract more

attention than positive ones

• Posts with multimedia content have been found to be positively

correlated with volumes and speed of retweeting

• Content specificity have a positive effect on influence, in terms of frequency, amplitude and

The definition of the contingency plan during the preparedness phase holds a crucial role in emergency management.

Dal punto di vista dell’algoritmo la ricerca viene effett uata t enendo dei parametri mut lipli che identificano le diverse emergenze ambient ali definite dall’utente.

Tut t i gli algorit mi di ricerca danno come risult at ofinale un set di scenari simili che l’applicazione SocialEMIS riporta att raverso l’interfaccia grafica all’espert o di dominio, il quale pot rà ricaricarli per pot erli visualizzare e studiare. La Figura 4.10 rappresenta un esempio di int erazione con il sist ema, che riport a i risult at i di una ricerca di scenari simili.
