In the traditional media audience matters, authority matters and content goes one way (broadcasting paradigm). Is it the same in social media? Is content a driver of influence? What are the characteristics of content that help increase influence?
Content is modeled in terms of:
• Sentiment (positive, negative, neutral)
• Use of multimedia as part of content (pictures or videos)
Some results:
• negative tweets seem to be more retweeted and attract more
attention than positive ones
• Posts with multimedia content have been found to be positively
correlated with volumes and speed of retweeting
• Content specificity have a positive effect on influence, in terms of frequency, amplitude and
