1 General provisions

1.1 General information

All information is valid from 13.12.2015

Unless otherwise stipulated, all price information is given in CHF.

The present document is a compilation of the fare conditions most often used by distribution partners. Full national fare conditions can be found at

http://www.sbb.ch/en/station-services/services/sbb-customer-service/fare-conditions-detailed-conditions-for-your-journey.html.

The right to change prices is expressly reserved.

1.2 Sale via SBB Partner Service

Tickets sold via SBB Partner Service are online tickets

The contracting party must notify the end customer of the following conditions of use, otherwise he bears joint and several liability to SBB AG in the event of the misuse of tickets by the end customer

1.2.1 OnlineTickets

OnlineTickets are displayed directly on the computer screen in PDF format and should if possible be printed by the customer him/herself using Acrobat Reader. They are valid only if printed in portrait format and 100% size on white A4 paper on an ink-jet or laser printer.

Smudged or incomplete printouts are not accepted.

With certain offers, OnlineTickets are subject to different conditions from those applicable to tickets bought at SBB ticket offices or ticket machines.

The OnlineTicket is valid for one journey only and is personal and non-transferable. It may only be used in conjunction with a valid official identity document (passport, ID card or driving licence) or a valid SBB Half-Fare or GA travelcard. The customer must present the identity document and/or travelcard to the train crew together with the OnlineTicket without being asked to do so.

As part of the OnlineTicket procedure, the data relating to the booking is stored in an encrypted certificate which is also contained in the computer printout. When the ticket is inspected on the train, the certificate is read into a checking device which decrypts the certificate and displays the ticket-related data. The checking device stores a set of control data which is compared with the OnlineTicket booked.

Fraud involving OnlineTickets (e.g. illicit multiple use or forgery of an OnlineTicket) is deemed to constitute travel without a valid ticket. The passenger's personal details are recorded and he or she is charged a supplement in addition to the fare. SBB reserves the right to bring criminal charges. SBB AG reserves the right to decline the customer's order without stating reasons and to block its user account, and will do so in any case in the event of improper use, suspected improper use or the use of invalid credit cards.

Use of a smudged or incomplete OnlineTicket printout is also deemed to constitute travel without a valid ticket. In such cases, the customer is required to pay the fare plus a supplement. The

additional fare paid (but not the supplement) can be reclaimed, less an administration fee, by making written application to the SBB Contact Center (section 17.1). The OnlineTicket and the receipt for the additional fare paid must be enclosed with the application.

(6)

Product purchase

Products and services cannot be purchased via the SBB Partner Service more than 3 months before their first day of validity; other than in the case of OnlineTickets, they are generally not available less than 3 working days before their first day of validity (8 working days for items sent abroad).

4.1 SwissPass

The SwissPass is the key to simple, customer-friendly and forward-looking access to public transport.

The customer’s photo, name, date of birth and a non-personal identification number are printed on the SwissPass. The service purchased by the customer is not visible on the card.

4.1.1 Sales channels

For technical reasons, SwissPass products cannot be sold to private customers via Rail Ticketing and the SBB Partner Service. Ask customers to go to their nearest station, contact the GA

Travelcard Helpdesk (tel. +41 84 844 66 88) or visit www.sbb.ch.

4.1.2 Contracting party/passenger

There are two customer roles – “contracting party” and “passenger”: Contracting party Receives the bill, commits

to paying for the service ∂ Signs the contract Cancels travelcards ∂ Withdraws cancellations ∂ Obtains billing

∂ Deposits GA travelcards ∂ Provides evidence

Passenger Travelcard holder

4.1.3 Half-Fare travelcard

Half-price travel all over Switzerland: in fact, you can travel on over 24,500 km of train, mountain railway, boat and postbus routes.

The Half-Fare travelcard is renewed annually. Customers receive a loyalty discount when they renew their travelcard for the next year.

When buying a Half-Fare travelcard, customers enter into an indefinite contract. The advantage of this is that when the validity period ends, their travelcard is automatically renewed. If they do not wish to renew their Half-Fare travelcard, customers must cancel it one month before it expires at the latest.

Price atwww.sbb.ch

Please note:

Customers who are resident outside Switzerland/Germany/Austria/France/Italy/the Principality of Lichtenstein cannot purchase a Half-Fare travelcard via invoice. These customers can obtain their Half-Fare travelcard from the ticket counter or use the order form and provide their credit card details. They cannot renew it automatically. This also applies to customers with a temporary residence in Switzerland (e.g. Japanese tourists, transit centre residents).

4.1.4 GA travelcard

The GA travelcard offers independence when travelling by train. With the GA travelcard, you can benefit from unlimited travel on over 24,500 km of SBB routes and most private railways for a whole year. You can travel by postbus, boat, tram and bus in major Swiss cities and urban areas.

1.1.1.1 General

The product range includes the GA travelcard with annual invoice and GA travelcard with monthly invoice.

Deposit:

Customers can still deposit their travelcard at the ticket counter or via the GA Travelcard Helpdesk. The fee for this service is CHF 10. The last day of travel and first day of travel are to be specified when the travelcard is deposited.

The date of the first day of travel can be changed while the travelcard is deposited, provided that the end of the deposit period (the first day of travel) has not yet been reached.

The customer retains the SwissPass card. The ticket inspectors check whether the SwissPass has been deposited during the inspection.

Please note:

Customers under 18 years old who are resident outside

Switzerland/Germany/Austria/France/Italy/the Principality of Lichtenstein cannot purchase a GA travelcard via invoice. These customers can obtain their annual GA travelcard from the ticket counter or use the order form and provide their credit card details. They cannot renew it automatically.
