IVMS
Asset Being Monitored Communications Web Application
Over 90% of road transport accidents are attributed to driver behaviour. As an ‘in-cab driver supervisor,’ our In Vehicle Management System has shown clear evidence of improved driver behaviour and subsequently improved road safety performance as a result of reduction in violations such as speeding, seatbelt not fastened, harsh acceleration and braking.
WHAT IS IVMS?
Our In Vehicle Management System is an electronic device that is installed in a vehicle or fleet of
vehicles which allows the owner or authorised third party to track the vehicle’s location, and collect data such as speed, engine RPM, seatbelt usage, harsh acceleration and a number of other factors.

HOW IVMS COULD BENEFIT
YOUR BUSINESS
Safeguard your Employees
Our IVMS allows you to track the whereabouts of your vehicles and employees, and allows you to monitor driving patterns, and reduce at risk driving behaviour. Monitored parameters include excessive idle, harsh braking, excessive acceleration, speeding, over-revving and free wheeling to name a few.
Reconstruct Accidents
IVMS logs relevant vehicle data including location, speed (GPS vs. road speed), direction, and harsh braking on a second-by-second basis. If an accident occurs, an ‘event’ is sent to the web platform and can be automatically emailed to multiple recipients. (Further information included in the Reporting section)
Improve Communications
Our integrated, on board In Vehicle Management System utilises Iridium’s world wide satellite communications network, ensuring “Pole to Pole” data communication.
Speed / Sensitive Area Awareness
Records the entry and exit of user defined geofences,
allowing distribution management to monitor the execution of the delivery plan and report on action vs. planned. This feature also allows you to determine and
manage allowable speeds within defined zones (AMS), and monitor breaches of no-go zones.
Increase Fleet Productivity & Improve Operational Control
Our In Vehicle Management System allows you to map driver routes, and assign individual trips to individual drivers, providing you with better operational control. The system then reports on the actual vs. planned.
Protect your Assets
Reduce unauthorised vehicle use, rough and dangerous driving, and recover your vehicle quicker in the event of a theft. You’ll save money on maintenance, and reduce risk on valuable assets and cargo.
Our IVMS utilises a combination of both ‘passive’ and ‘active’ tracking methods. When an asset is inside a communication network coverage area, the device transmits data to the server in real time
‘active’ tracking. Depending on the configuration of the unit, the unit can also store certain data and
transmit it via least cost routing. When the asset is outside of a cellular network, critical ‘events’ can be sent via Iridium Short Burst Data (SBD). IVMS means of communication options include GSM, NextG, and Satellite (Iridium SBD).

Mobile App
Our In Vehicle Management System offers a user friendly mobile app that is compatible with mobile devices on iOS and Android platforms.
The mobile app is especially beneficial for;
• Calculating Fringe Benefit Tax (FBT)
Our In Vehicle Management System allows you to easily and accurately calculate the running costs of a vehicle for FBT purposes simple. Running costs can be tracked and calculated through use of the mobile app—a client or employee simply needs to log whether trips and expenses are related to business or personal use, and the app will calculate the rest.
• Logging Fuel Expenses
Our mobile app allows employees to easily log their fuel expenses whilst on the go.
• Reviewing Trip Summaries
Employees are able to access trip summary data by date and time without having to log into MZone on a computer.
IVMS CAPABILITIES
Driver Monitoring
Our In Vehicle Management System can not only track
the whereabouts of your fleet vehicles, but also how your
employees are driving those vehicles. Drivers can be issued an individual key that is encoded with their information, to enable you to easily identify and verify who is driving
a specific vehicle. When a driver tags onto the system
all ‘events’ and data created are recorded against that
driver, enabling employee-specific reporting. Identifying
and monitoring risky driving behaviour will help you protect your employees, reduce maintenance costs, and prolonging the life of your assets.
High Voltage Proximity Alert System
This system is ideal for ensuring the safety of employees within the construction, and transport industries. Our HV Proximity Alert System provides both audible and visual warning signals to alert an operators and ground attendant personnel when a boom / vehicle comes within
proximity of an energized high-voltage power line.
IVMS has been found to offer clients the following return on investment:
• 15 - 25% accident reduction • 10 - 15% fuel savings
• 10 - 25% maintenance cost savings • 5 - 20% productivity improvement
• 5 - 15% reduction in unauthorised personal use
Source: Statistics gathered from global customer base are averaged over a 12 month period. Results may vary.
HOW IVMS WORKS
Our IVMS solution has the capability to transmit data either via GSM (cellular) or Iridium satellite. As the vehicle or asset moves, our device actively monitors the availability of GSM signal and its quality. If the quality falls below a predetermined level, the Iridium Satellite connection is used to communicate critical ‘events’ so that important data is not delayed. This allows our clients to decide what data must be sent immediately versus what can be stored within the unit until GSM coverage is once again available. This ensures data is sent at the appropriate time, therefore minimising data costs.
IVMS User Interface
MZone was designed specifically with the end user in mind. The comprehensive, easy to use Mobile Resource Management platform offers management tools for all teams involved; safety, fleet and project
management, operations, and leadership.
The platform is browser based, making it accessible from anywhere in the world, and utilises Microsoft Silverlight, presenting the operator with a multilingual, user friendly interface. MZone boasts incorporation of the latest technological tools, ensuring high performance, ease of use and an overall rewarding user experience.
IN VEHICLE MANAGEMENT SYSTEM
IN VEHICLE MANAGEMENT SYSTEM
Our system offers the following benefits:• Fuel theft prevention devices can be integrated with the system.
• Reporting that compares a vehicle’s fuel consumption against the vehicle’s activities, complemented
by a trend analysis (which could identify theft or maintenance issues).
Collision Prevention System
The collision prevention system offers a number of features to keep your drivers safe while on the road.
1. Lane Departure Warning
Monitors a vehicle’s position on the road and will alert the driver when it starts to veer off the lane.
2. Forward Collision Warning
This will alert a driver to an imminent rear end collision with the vehicle or motorcycle ahead. The system calculates the time to collision based on the distance and relative speed between the two vehicles.
3. Daytime Pedestrian and Bicycle Detection
The system can detect when a pedestrian is about to, or has walked onto the road and will notify the driver.
4. Headway Monitoring and Warning
This will alert a driver when they are following behind a vehicle too closely.
5. High Beam Control
Controls the vehicles driving lights by automatically switching them from high beam on dark roads with
no nearby traffic.
Temperature Monitoring
The IVMS temperature monitoring feature will enable you to monitor refrigerated vehicles and areas, and report on temperature variances, and historic data. This technology will assist you in immediately addressing technical issues, and will provide you with the peace of mind associated with knowing your cargo will be delivered safe.
Tyre Pressure Monitoring
IVMS offers Tyre Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS) to ensure maximum stability and vehicle handling. If there is an unsafe drop in tyre pressure TPMS will immediately alert the driver. Additionally, an ‘event’ is recorded to assist in monitoring your drivers’ reaction to the alert,
and to make sure your fleet is properly attended to.
Geofencing
IVMS can establish user defined geofences, which are
virtual perimeters for a real-world geographic areas.
These fences can be categorized by operators to any user defined category (i.e. customer locations, fueling stations,
depots, etc.). IVMS can then record entry and exit of the geofences, allowing distribution management to monitor the execution of the delivery plan and report on action vs. planned. This feature also allows stakeholders to determine
and manage allowable speeds within defined zones.
Man Down / Lone Worker System
The Man Down Pendant is an ideal solution for ensuring the health and safety of your employees working remotely or alone. The pendant is worn by employees, and has a built-in motion sensor that will trigger an alarm if the worker is motionless for a certain amount of time. If the worker does not respond to the alarm, an emergency message can be sent to dispatch emergency services. The Man Down system utilises the broad communications network of the IVMS unit, installed within the vehicle, to communicate the safety of your employees even within the most isolated areas of Australia and world wide.
Fuel Monitoring
With fuel and environmental costs becoming an increasingly large component of total logistic costs, effective route management is vital. We have developed a fuel management solution that provides the measures and controls required to ensure your fuel consumption is reduced and fuel theft is eliminated.
Our In Vehicle Management System is integrated into
vehicle fuel gauges. OBDII port or CANBUS (J1939) provide

Planning and Scheduling
Our IVMS planning and scheduling tools will help you
optimise the productivity of your fleet. The IVMS Mobile Resource Management platform incorporates job creation,
allocation, scheduling, and analysis. System highlights include:
• Ensures scheduling optimisation, to help you meet your delivery times
• Recommends the closest available mobile resource for a required destination, and best route mapping,
increasing your fleet’s efficiency
Dispatcher and driver communication is improved and streamlined through our In Vehicle Management System.
Planned routes and jobs can be synchronized with the
driver’s mobile handheld device or in-cab screen, allowing
the driver to view the assigned jobs/routes and provide real
time feedback.
Dispatchers are able to quickly identify and dynamically respond to problems, and schedule ad-hoc assignments through a real time Gantt Chart view of actual vs. planned route execution report.
Our IVMS Mobile Resource Management platform offers a
suite of reports designed to analyse your fleet performance
and identify problems relating to the supply chain.
Swipe Card Access
Our IVMS system can be integrated with employee access card management systems, which requires drivers to swipe their access card before using a vehicle. This enables the
following additional control;
• Driver ID
Identify which vehicle a driver was operating at a
specified time and place.
• Access & License Control
The swipe card system can read and manage driver access according to their license level. For example, if a driver is only licensed to drive light vehicles but tries to swipe onto a forklift, the system willset off an alarm
and send an alert to the appropriate, predefined team.
Swipe cards can be loaded with multiple licenses and expiry dates. If a driver’s license for a particular class of assets expires, they will not be able to use that asset until they have their license renewed and updated in the system.
• Card Management
If a card is lost it can be disabled to prevent unauthorised use of that card on company assets.
Anti-Tamper Lock
We developed a unique anti-tampering lock system to prevent an unauthorised disconnection, ensuring
your fleet is reported on accurately.
CASE STUDY
One of our clients operates a fleet of over 700 vehicles, and to reduce the likelihood of an accident,
they decided to monitor their employees’ driving behaviour more closely. We developed an in-depth report that summarises risky driving behaviour and assigns a performance score to each driver. This report has assisted them in identifying dangerous driving habits early on, which has allowed them to address the behaviour and improve driver safety.
Our client, in the year prior to implementing IVMS, had 11 severe incidents occur. Subsequent
to the implementation, our client has had no accidents, and has seen the following reduction in speeding and harsh braking incidents:
