Recommended operating systems and software for
end user services
There are different requirements for different features in Office 365 Beta Beta, but the following list will work with every feature:
Windows 7
Microsoft Office 2010
Microsoft Office Outlook 2010
Windows Internet Explorer 8
Microsoft Lync 2010
Operating systems and software not supported for
end user services
The following operating systems and software versions will not work with Office 365 Beta Beta. Instead of using these, either upgrade to the recommended versions listed earlier in this article or evaluate the features listed later in this article and find the minimum versions that you can use for those features.

Microsoft Office 2003
Microsoft Office Outlook 2003
Microsoft Internet Explorer 6
Microsoft Office Communicator 2007

Microsoft Online Services Connector
Managing the installation of service updates is an important part of running an efficient and protected network. But it can be difficult to satisfy all the requirements for every feature used in your company; that is one reason that Office 365 Beta Beta offers the Microsoft Online Services Connector. After users install the Microsoft Online Services Connector, it automatically updates their computers with the latest service updates that will enable client applications, such as Outlook, to authenticate to the Office 365 Beta Beta services. For more information, see Install Microsoft Online Services Connector.
In order to install the Microsoft Online Services Connector, users must have one of the following operating systems on their computers:
Windows 7 (32-bit or 64-bit editions)
Windows Vista with Service Pack 1 (SP1) (32-bit or 64-bit editions)
Windows XP with Service Pack 2 (SP2) (32-bit or 64-bit editions)
Windows Server 2008
Important
Installing the Microsoft Online Services Connector is required, because the features in Office 365
Beta Beta will not work properly without the appropriate versions of operating systems, browsers,
and software.
