The Texas Lottery® offers a large variety

of scratch-off games that’s bound to have something for everyone. One of our pop-ular design themes is the “whimsical” theme. This theme brings an element of light-hearted fun to an otherwise “serious” gaming mix. This winter, the Texas Lottery introduced several whimsical tickets for you to choose from.

Lucky Dog Doubler is a $1 ticket with a $1,000

top prize. This game is perfect for dog lovers out there! Snake Eyes

Doubler, a fun $1 dice-style game, offers a $1,000 top prize and is sure to

be a hit! For those of you who like the tripler feature, we are introducing the $1 Turtle Tripler. Turtles may be slow, but this one crosses the finish line in a big way, with a top prize of $3,000! Last but not least,

we are pleased to introduce the $5

Panda-Money-Um ticket! These

fun little bears offer 20 chances per ticket to win a serious top prize of $50,000.

Be sure to check out these tickets at your favorite lottery retailer! February |March 2007

MILLION WINNERS!

Over 32 Million Winners in October/November 2006!

Kenneth Donnell of Graham isn’t afraid of the number “13,” nor is he a disbeliever in the possible prophetic nature of dreams. A dream his wife had and the number “13” both figured prominently in the events that led The Kenneth Donnell Trust to claim the top prize of $5,000 per week for 20 years in the Set for Life scratch-off from the Texas Lottery.

“My wife has purchased a total of 13 Set for Life tickets and has won some good prizes, but not like this,” Donnell said. “In fact, it was some of the money she won playing this game that I used to buy the ticket that had this prize.”

Earlier in the day, Donnell’s wife, Janna, had taken a nap and had a dream that would

come true that evening. On their way to dinner, they stopped and bought

some Set for Life tickets from the Graham Minit Mart,

located at 1000 Indiana St. in Graham. They

had dinner, scratched off a prizewinning ticket, and returned to

the store to cash in that ticket and buy

another. “The one I bought was the thirteenth ticket to come out of the roll,” he said. “I noticed that number right away. The next thing I said to my wife was, ‘Oh, my gosh, it says, “Life,”’ and after that, I was speechless!”

Austin’s Dora Angeles is a well-informed Texas Lottery player, so she

always checks to find out which scratch-off games are more likely to

have top prizes remaining before she buys a ticket. Angeles’ homework

paid off, because in late October she claimed a top cash prize of

$30,000 in the $2 Betty Boop

scratch-off game.

“All I really knew about the game was that it was pretty new and that most of the top prizes were probably still unclaimed,” said Angeles. “I went home to scratch it and I jumped and screamed when I saw what I had, but I still didn’t believe it until my husband and sister looked at it too.” Angeles said that prior to this win, the most she’d ever won was $500. She plans to use her new winnings to pay off some bills. She bought her winning ticket at Kwik Food Mart located at 2157 Gaston Place in Austin.

Pretty soon, Doug Smith of

Cedar Park won’t need his glasses to check his Texas Lottery results every morning. Using family birthdays for good luck, he matched all five numbers in the October 24th Cash Five® drawing,

and collected his $27,606 prize. The bespectacled Smith didn’t hesitate when asked what he was going to do with his prize.

“The first thing I’m going to do is get LASIK eye surgery, so I can get rid of these glasses,” said Smith. “We’ll probably use the rest to pay some bills and maybe for a down payment on a car.”

Smith said he’d been using another set of numbers forever without hitting the jackpot,

so he recently switched to family birthdays. The switch definitely paid off, and Smith has already bought his ticket for the next Cash Five drawing.

Smith purchased his winning ticket at the Lakeline Food Stop located at 1075 North Lakeline Blvd. in Cedar Park.

Patricia Conaway of Palestine has her own unique way of picking her numbers for the Texas Two Step® on-line game. “I picked the current ages

of my son and daughter, and the ages they were soon to be, consecutively,” Conaway said. “I started to use thirty-two as the bonus ball number, but changed it to nine, after my granddaughter’s age. My first instinct would’ve made me a millionaire!”

Still, Conaway matched four numbers in the September 21st Texas Two Step drawing for a respectable $1,660 in winnings! She was home watching the 10 o’clock news when she discovered she had won. “I knew I had won as soon as I saw the first four numbers!” she said.

Conaway planned to use her winnings to take her daughter to Shreveport for the weekend. She bought her ticket at JJ’s #211 located at 1901 Crockett Road in Palestine.

October 25 was a cloudy, stormy day in Central Texas, but Don A.

Waddell of Waco saw nothing but blue skies on his drive to Texas

Lottery headquarters in Austin. Nothing could dampen his spirits that day, because he was in town to pick up a top prize of $75,000 in the Bonus Break the Bank scratch-off game.

“The traffic may have been heavy, but I really couldn’t tell you,” Waddell said. “I’m just so happy, nothing’s going to spoil my day!” Wednesday wasn’t Waddell’s first brush with Texas Lottery luck. He said he also won $30,000 on another scratch-off ticket last year. Waddell said he plans to use his Bonus Break the Bank winnings to buy a new truck, and he’ll probably put the rest in the bank.
