Scope and benefits

The employee self-service component provides Web-

based access to HR services for every employee, resulting in streamlined and automated HR processes. Employees can access information, tools, and services to manage their personal information and careers. They can, for example, change personal information, record working time, submit leave requests, view salary and total

compensation statements, enroll for benefits, and manage their careers. In addition, employees can view and manage all processes in which they are involved. A team calendar showing team members absences and new birthday-and- anniversary application facilitate team collaboration. The scope of the self-services depends on the business

processes activated in the SAP ERP Human Capital Management solution.

Time management functionality in the employee self- service component extends the processes for leave and time recording to the employees’ desktops. Employees benefit from intuitive Web transactions to record their

working time in a calendar, display time account balances, and time account data. They can create leave requests and display their leave overviews. In the interactive calendar, employees can also display a team calendar, birthdays and public holidays.

The manager self-service component provides Web-based access to HR services for managers, resulting in

streamlined and automated HR processes. Managers can access relevant employee information and the applications needed to execute processes and make decisions about, for example, compensation planning. In addition managers can approve processes such as compensation increases, leave requests, expenses and time sheets. It is also

possible to activate an option for managers to maintain substitutes and substitution rules. These substitutions

apply for workflow tasks as well as for non-workflow based tasks and applications. The scope of the self-services

depends on the business processes activated in the SAP ERP Human Capital Management solution.

Performance management functionality supports managers in viewing and managing predefined and flexible performance management documents, team goals, qualification profiles, and additional appraisal documents.

E-recruiting functionality supports managers in recruitment activities, including services for a requisition monitor, questionnaires for candidate assessment, data overview of published job postings, overview of

requisition requests, creating a requisition request, or specifying a substitute. The manager creates recruitment requisition requests and monitors the recruiting process that he or she has initiated.

The talent management business functionality supports managers with self-services for certain key steps in talent management, including talent assessment, talent information talent profile and learning services for employees.

Scope and benefits

The forms using WebDynpro for the ABAP programming language can be used to execute processes relating to personnel administration and organization management.

They are integrated with the back-end system and update HR master data, depending on the process workflow. The standard sample forms are delivered for the manager role.

As an alternative to the forms using WebDynpro for ABAP, you can use SAP Interactive Forms by Adobe.

The My KPIs lane provides managers with an overview of the manager’s favorite KPIs within their area of

responsibility. The coloring indicates the status of the threshold for this KPI. The manager can open the expanded lane to see all available KPIs, their current values, how the thresholds are defined and trend graphs.

The KPI Monitor lane provides an overview of the status of the KPIs for the manager’s area of responsibility. Only

KPIs with a defined threshold are tracked. The manager can open the expanded lane to see the current value, how the threshold is defined and a trend graph for each KPI.

The KPIs for these lanes are not delivered but must be defined by the customer.

 The My KPIs and My KPI Monitor lanes support

managers in tracking the efficiency and effectiveness of HR processes.

Integration to SuccessFactors enables you to integrate specific Web links/URLs in the SAP NetWeaver Portal

component if you operate employee and manager services in a hybrid model. In this case, you can provide employees and managers with access to the landing page as well as SuccessFactors cloud-based services. If, for example, you are using compensation management software by

SuccessFactors instead of on-premise–based

compensation management software, your managers need to access the cloud-based solution from within their

manager self-services without being required to log in

twice. This integration is delivered through a single-sign-on process that is provided by the SAP NetWeaver

technology platform. This scope item provides a reference to the published cookbook. The integration is only

supported with self-services running in SAP NetWeaver Portal.
