Sprint into Summer! Sacred Heart School will be hosting a 5K-1K Run/Walk on June 1st, starting at 9:30am, registration starting at 8:30am. Kids race to follow (approx. 10:30am).

wonder if it is because of his flawed, relatable humanity. Today's Gospel takes place after Jesus appears to the disciples and breathes the Holy Spirit upon them. And yet, Peter finds himself returning to his old way of life, to comfortable habits he formed long before following Jesus. Is something still lingering in him? Is something still lingering in us? Lent is over, and we should be rejoicing! But do you feel like you're still holding onto something? Or perhaps you had an ex- cellent Lent. You encountered Jesus in a new way and grew in faith. But as the weeks since

Easter have slipped by, some of your newfound devotion has begun to waver. The closeness you felt in your Lenten com- mitments has given way to humdrum status quo or turn-of-the-season busyness.

"'Simon, son of John, do you love me?'" Peter has endured so much in his walk of discipleship! But something is still weigh- ing on him. In today's Gospel, Jesus confirms Peter's devotion three times, a redemption of his earlier threefold denial. The call of the Lord must come again, as if heard anew for the first time. So often, this is the pattern of the Christian life. We discover God and experience a new desire for our faith, but in time, our enthusiasm begins to wane. Perhaps something happens that startles us, or we startle ourselves by a poor decision. Then we discover God anew! Our joy returns...for a while. Even the Apostles were no strangers to the cyclical nature of spiritual growth. Our disappointments or frustrations should not be cause for giving up. Like Peter, we too can recommit and start anew. This Sunday and every day of our lives, Jesus is waiting to say again, "Follow me."

Grade Teacher Needed

SHAS is looking for a 6^th grade teacher for the upcoming school year. If you’re interested, please submit a cover letter, resume, transcript, and (3) letters of recommendation to the school office.

Possible Summer Day Care!

SHAS administration is considering a daycare program for the upcoming summer vacation. The proposed program would run 7 AM – 5:30 PM and would have two rooms for any student en- tering Preschool through 6^th grade. It would cost $25/day for full time attendance, and $27/day for part time attendance. Parents would need to pack a cold lunch for their child(ren) and take turns sharing healthy snacks. There would be a 2-week shutdown from June 24^th through July 5^th to accommodate the SHAS garage sale.

If you’re interested, please contact the school office by Fri- day, May 10^th, so we can decide whether we will proceed with the program.

which this year will be held at St. Michael Church in Motley at 10:30am. This is for all those Catholic members who are graduat- ing from high school this year. We usually wear gowns only.

The Second is the Area Baccalaureate Worship Service sponsored by the Area Ministerial. This event is for all our Seniors and is being held at the Staples Alliance Church at 7:00pm. Seniors are invited to lead the service and attend.
