FARES & TICKETS

Changes from

3rd April 2011

To see how these changes affect you see inside or visit

our website: www.stagecoachbus.com/manchester

(2)

It is with regret that we have to inform our

passengers that from the 3rd April 2011

we are implementing a package of price

changes across the full range of Stagecoach

Manchester fares and tickets.

This decision has been necessary due to a combination of factors. Like most companies, our costs are going up, the largest of which is fuel and we are now seeing the effects of the continued increase at the pumps. To put this into perspective, this is the first time we have changed the Megarider price in 2 years.

From 3rd April 2011 there are also other changes which are beyond our control. GMITA have announced changes to the concessionary fares available in Greater Manchester, most noticeably the removal of the 80p flat fare.

Whilst we understand that there seems to be a lot changing on the same day – we have looked to try to simplify the messages in this booklet. You don’t have to read this leaflet from page to page – just the sections relevant to you:

Page 4: Single fares

Page 5: System One tickets

Page 6: Tickets for 16 and under

Page 7: GMPTE Concessionary Travel Card holders – (Over 60, disabled and Concession Plus)

Megarider can be used anytime of the day or night on all Stagecoach and Magic Buses in Greater Manchester within the dates shown on the ticket.

• 7 day Megarider, available to buy from the driver, will cost

£11.50.

• 28 day Megarider ticket available on-line from:

www.stagecoachbus.com/manchester will increase to

£42.

We have an extensive range of Dayrider tickets.

• Adult Dayrider, available from the driver will cost

£3.70.

• Dayrider Plus One, available for one adult and one child

*

will cost

£5.50.

• Group Dayrider, available for up to 2 adults and 3 children

*

will cost

£8.00.

• X57 and 42A ex Bullocks day ticket will no longer be available.

*A child is classed as between 5 and 16 up to the end of the school year where they turn 16. ID may be required to prove age.

Stagecoach Manchester’s range of

Megarider and Dayrider tickets have

not changed in price in over 2 years.

To pay a single fare whether it’s an adult or half fare, please tell the driver where you are going. Single fares work in stages, the price doesn’t change at each bus stop, it changes when you move from one stage to another. The stages are set and programmed into the ticket machine. Here is an example of how fares would work for a simple journey:

Simple fares table example

5

£1.70 £1.50 £1.10 Leisure Centre
