Online Applications

What investments can be made online?

At present you can make both ISA and Unit Trust/OEIC investments via our online application service provided by the Cofunds Platform. We encourage our clients to make their investments via a platform as it provides a convenient single point of reference for administration, at no additional cost to the investor. For more information about

Cofunds please click here. Please note that a small number of funds are not available via Cofunds and should you

have any specific queries, please contact us on 0870 242 2043.

Checklist For Making An Online Investment

Before starting the online application process you will need to have the following items/information to hand:

 Debit Card (Visa Solo and Maestro Only)

 Full Basic Details – This includes national insurance number and a valid e-mail address

 Bank Account Details – (only required if selecting Income units (Inc) and selecting income to be paid out)

 Fund Choices – Our ‘Buy List’ of recommended funds is a useful place to start when deciding in which

fund/s to invest your money. Our buylist can be found here.

Online Application Process

After accepting the terms detailed on the apply online page you will be sent to the Cofunds website to begin the purchase process.

Step 1 – Personal Details

In order to move onto the second stage of the application you will need to enter all of your personal details. If you intend to make an ISA application you must enter your National Insurance Number. You will be alerted to any missing data when you try to proceed. Once all of the data requirements have been met you will progress to the Product & Fund Details tab.

Step 2 Product & Fund Details

Once you have entered your personal details you will then need to select your investments. The online application service allows you to make investments into either a Cofunds ISA or a Cofunds Investment Funds (Unit

Trust/OEIC) Plan.

With the Investment Funds option you can choose to give the investment a designation. A designation is limited to 8 characters but can be used to separate your investments if they have different purposes, for example you may be making investments to cover future school fees, these investments can be given a designation so that they appear separately on your valuation and other reports.

Once you have selected your product you will then be able to select individual funds to invest in. First select the fund manager from the dropdown list and then the fund name from the dropdown list below, once selected click on the add fund button. If you have trouble finding a fund it may be one of the few funds that are unavailable on the

Cofunds Platform. A list of all the funds available can be found here.

Once you have added the funds you intend to invest in you can then allocate your investments based on percentages or monetary amounts. To remove a fund added in error click the red x on the right hand side of the screen.

Before moving to the next section you must download the key features and terms and conditions documents. After confirming you have downloaded and read the documents you can continue to the next step.

Step 3 – Payment Details

You have two choices here, to re-invest or to pay out the income generated by your investments. Please note that choice is only relevant if you are investing into funds with Income (Inc) units.

If you select to pay out income you will need to confirm if the income is to be paid to a Cofunds Cash Account for re-investment or to be paid out to your nominated bank account.

Again if you choose the latter option you will need to provide the full details of your bank account. Please note that this will replace your existing nominated bank account details if you already have Cofunds holdings.

Step 4 – Legal Information

Please read over all the documents on this page and when you are happy to continue, tick to confirm that you agree with the declaration and then the next button to proceed.

Step 5 - Summary

The summary screen will give you a chance to review all the information you have provided. Make sure you have read through all of the investment details on this page and are happy to proceed before clicking the submit button.

Note: This will not complete the application nor will any money be taken from your account. Payment details are finalised in step 6.

Step 6 – Debit Card Payment

Now you have confirmed the full details of your investment you will be prompted for payment details. Payment is

handled by WorldPay. For more information about WorldPay please click here. As confirmed a the start of this

document, payments can only be accepted from a card registered to the Investors name and address.

Be sure to make note of the description given as this is the reference we will need to query your transaction if any problems arise.

Step 7 – Confirmation

After finalising payment details you will be passed to the Confirmation page. This confirms your application has been received by Cofunds and payment has been taken. You will receive e-mail confirmation of the transaction from WorldPay and a contract note will be sent in the post by Cofunds confirming the full investment details.

If you experience any problems with the online applications please feel free to contact us on 0870 242 2043 or via
