Adventure Series – Animal Totems

Children will have an opportunity to create a personal totem by

fi nding an animal that is connected to them. Using clay, paint and

natural items found in the environment, kids will build an animal totem that is a true representation of themselves. The goal is to allow each child to be creative and express who they are and what they love. You will receive an Adventure Series Sticker for your passport.

Adventure Series – Climbing on the Edge

Want to live life on the edge? Come and experience what being

more than 30 feet in the air feels like! Richmond Hill’s 22-element dynamic ropes course will challenge and excite you, while giving

you the confi dence to try anything. Experienced instructors will

keep you physically and emotionally engaged as you experience the different elements of the ropes course. The program provides instruction related to the equipment and climbing techniques like belaying. Come to the edge! You will receive an Adventure Series Sticker for your passport.

Adventure Series – Electric Treasure Hunt

Awaken the treasure hunter inside your child! This new geocaching adventure teaches children the basics of orienteering, by showing them how to use a handheld GPS unit while searching for hidden treasure containers around the park. Children will work in teams to input and follow coordinates, solve puzzles and uncover hidden treasures. This program takes place outside. You will receive an Adventure Series Sticker for your passport.

Children will develop their own survival skills in this class, including

how to build their own shelters and fires, along with how to brew

Adventure Series – Get Outside

What is there to do outside? A lot! In this program, children will

participate in a variety of exciting outdoor activities. They will build

fires and shelter and search for hidden treasures using handheld

GPS units! This program takes place outside. All participants must dress appropriately for the weather. You will receive an Adventure Series Sticker for your passport.

Adventure Series – Natural Rhythms

Kids have their own rhythm, and so does nature! This program brings them together! Children have an opportunity to get outside and experiment with sounds in their environment, create their own instruments from natural objects while exploring simple rhythms. From the rustling of leaves to the clacking of rocks, there are a variety of musical tones for young ears to discover in the park! You will receive an Adventure Series Sticker for your passport.

Adventure Series – Night Hike & Campfire

At night, the forest becomes a different world. It’s an enchanted place, full of strange noises and mysterious scenes. Children can experience the wonder of a nighttime wilderness on a guided night hike through the woods designed to heighten their senses and give them an opportunity to enjoy all the unusual sights, sounds

and sensations. The hike will end around a campfire, roasting

marshmallows. You will receive an Adventure Series Sticker for your passport.

Adventure Series – On the Wall

Are your children climbing the walls at home? Then bring them to

climb ours! This program is designed to provide a solid introduction to rock climbing. Participants will learn climbing safety, how to tackle a climbing wall, along with belay techniques, basic movement skills, climbing terminology all the while scaling a 30 foot outdoor climbing wall. Staff will keep them physically and emotionally engaged as they push to new heights. You will receive an Adventure Series Sticker for your passport.

Adventure Series – The Backpack Chef

Not all top chefs slave over a stove. In this program, kids can discover a new way to cook their favorite foods, in the great outdoors! They will be introduced to a variety of techniques and

recipes for cooking over an open fire, gaining valuable skills that

will serve them for life. It’s perfect for kids who love camping or cooking or both! You will receive an Adventure Series Sticker for your passport.

Archaeology Explorers Discount Package

Time to get dirty and explore the past. From piecing together lost artifacts to analyzing bones, in this program kids will learn the basic skills of an Archaeologist and how they contribute to our understanding of past cultures and ways of life. Topics and activities vary for maximum learning and excitement! Children can be registered for indiividual programs or enjoy all six at a discounted rate.

Children explore the lumps and bumps of the land in this interactive afternoon of discovering earthly treasures. Other topics include the bulldozing effects of glaciers and how the wind is shaping the earth’s surface. Pompeii is one of the greatest archaeoligical treasures on earth, fascinating for kids and adults alike! Archaeology Explorers – Mystery Madness

Kids who love mystery and crime will love this workshop. They can learn how advances in forensic archaeology have impacted today’s crime scene investigations and explore the techniques used to solve modern crime mysteries. They will gain an apprecation for the fact that for every crime there is evidence left behind, and with

modern science, we are getting better at finding it. This is a fun and

Art – Art Attack!

It’s a new art project every day! This arts and crafts program is perfect for kids who enjoy expressing themselves with well, anything! They will have a chance to let their imaginations run wild in tackling paint, clay, paper mache and theme projects. Project guidelines will be provided each week, while children are being encouraged to explore their creativity. There are no strict rules or guidelines to follow. Kids can just enjoy diving into their work and sharing ideas with new friends!

Art – Cartooning Adventures

Kids who love cartoons can learn to draw them the fun and easy way! The best part is, they don’t have to be great artists to be good at cartoons! It all comes down to some tips and tricks. In this program, kids will learn how to create cartoon characters and compose full cartoon panels, as the instructor walks them through each step of this fascinating process. Mosaic craft projects are a great way for kids to get creative with using different objects, such as glass tiles, beads or seeds. The kids will make a special piece of art to take home for themselves or to give to a loved one.

Badminton – Instructional

Badminton is an easy and accessible way for kids to stay fit! If they don’t know how to play, this program will teach them what they need to know. Children will be introduced to basic badminton skills in a non-competitive and fun learning environment. They will learn about good racket grip, proper footwork, and how to make the most of their shots. A qualified instructor will also cover the rules of badminton and commonly used terms. Please bring your own racket.

Ball Hockey – Children

The emphasis is on fun and physical activity in this recreational program for kids that takes the good old game off the ice. They will receive coaching and lessons to improve their skills. Goalie equipment is provided. If no one volunteers to play goal, the instructor will put the participants through a rotation of playing goal each week.

Girls can get in on a fun team sport through this girls-only basketball program. They will acquire basketball skills in a noncompetitive and fun environment! The fundamentals covered include team placement, dribbling, basketball handling, shooting and footwork. They will leave with a good understanding of the game, and many new skills under their belts!

Basketball is hoops of fun! Kids are invited to come and learn the basics of basketball in a non-competitive and fun learning environment. They will master all the fundamentals to become good basketball players, including dribbling, footwork, passing and scoring. By signing up for this program, they will score more than just a bunch of baskets! It’s a great way to learn a great team sport! The focus is on communication skills to help children build self-esteem and leadership capabilities. Taekwon-Do is a great way for kids to achieve fitness and focus.
