Course History
● You can see transfer courses and CI courses you are enrolled in
● Language and Multicultural Course designators can be seen here once they are added
www.csuci.edu/registrar
What May Be Missing before a full evaluation:
● Language/ Multicultural
○ Graduation Requirements
○ GWAR
● A GE course (Ex. C2, Area D)
● A lab course corresponding to your lecture
● An articulation you verified on Assist
● Some of your courses that Assist says are transferable
These will all be added during your manual evaluation. If you have not received a full evaluation yet, you do not need to worry about these things missing.
At this time, you should be primarily worried with your pre-requisites
If you have received a full evaluation, and still see something missing, let us know!
Reminder: We honor anything listed on Assist: GE or direct course-to-course articulations

Checking for Prerequisites
A prerequisite is a course/condition that must be met prior to registering for a specific course.
Starting Nov. 22nd, you can check your prerequisites by validating your coursework and reviewing your transfer credit report.
● To validate your coursework you will add all courses to your shopping cart and select the validate option
www.csuci.edu/registrar
Checking for Prerequisites
The results will let you know if you will be able to add courses (green checkmark) or if potential errors exist (red x)
Common Prerequisite Errors
● Specific Prerequisite required
● Department/Instructor Consent
● Reserve Capacity
www.csuci.edu/registrar
Checking for Prerequisites
After you have checked for pre-requisites, you will need to review your transfer credit report to see the credit you were awarded.
If there is an existing articulation in Assist.org but it is not reflected in your transfer credit report:
○ Email us at [email protected] a transfer credit update
○ In your email please include your student ID, transfer course information and CI course
If there is not an existing articulation or it is an out-of-state/private institution:
○ Email us the transfer course information, course description and CI course information along with your student ID number
○ Our office will review your transfer course for a possible course equivalency
www.csuci.edu/registrar
Course Substitutions
If our office cannot determine a course equivalency you may need a course substitution.
Course substitution process:
● Connect with your Faculty Advisor - email your faculty advisor and/or set up a virtual appointment
○ Faculty advisor information can be found by searching “Faculty Advisor” in the search box from the CI homepage
● Documentation - Have course descriptions and/or any other supporting information about the course content to go over with your faculty advisor
● Approval - If the advisor approves, they will submit an electronic advising request on your behalf through CI Records
● Processing Time Frame - Our office will receive the request and process it. Typically requests are processed within 1-2 weeks
● Email notification - You and your faculty advisor will receive an email notification once the request has been processed
Once your course substitution is approved and processed you can resume registering for the course you wish to add.
