Available in convenient packaged offerings, HP 3PAR StoreServ Data Migration Service can help to simplify the data migration process and is designed to provide a flexible way to migrate your organization’s critical data safely, with reduced impact on your operations for eligible storage products.
Using this service, you can leverage HP’s depth of technical capabilities, combined with migration methodologies and experienced consultants, which may help you to increase your return on investment, and accelerate your transition to HP 3PAR StoreServ Storage.
HP 3PAR StoreServ Data Migration Service offers several online and offline options for migrating your data to help align with your organization’s requirements, budgets, and timelines.
You can determine which production and/or non-production hosts to migrate to HP 3PAR Storage, subject to the limitations identified in this document. An HP data migration team will work with your organization, and a migration specialist will support cutover windows onsite or remotely, based on the option selected.
This service is available in four different options. Each option allows you to select a specific number of identified hosts, as well as the amount of data to be migrated to your new HP 3PAR StoreServ platform.
HP 3PAR StoreServ Data Migration Service packages are as follows: • Option 1: Migrate up to 20 TB and up to 10 hosts
• Option 2: Migrate up to 50 TB and up to 25 hosts • Option 3: Migrate up to 100 TB and up to 50 hosts • Option 4: Migrate up to 150 TB and up to 75 hosts Service deliverables
HP will provide the service deliverables for each of the following options:
• Remediation report—documents the in-scope servers, storage arrays, and storage area network (SAN) upgrades required to achieve a supported configuration in preparation for the data migration.
• Migration plan—provides a high-level project plan with an estimated project schedule, in-scope servers, and rolled-up migration tasks with owners.
• Data migration design—defines the data movement methodology that will be used for migrating data, as well as the mapping of source to target data volumes.
• Data migration methodology PlayBook—outlines the process flow for the migration method selected.
• Data Migration execution – HP Partners with your team to execute the migration and cutover to the target HP Storage Array

Project coordination
HP will analyze the in-scope servers and source environment, then document the remediation requirements that must be addressed prior to migration.
Environment remediation process
HP will identify and select the appropriate migration methodology and develop a data migration PlayBook for this migration methodology collaboratively with the Customer. HP may also perform a migration pilot based on a subset of the migration environment.
Migration design and pilot
HP will assist the Customer’s team with determining the proposed schedule to complete the migration successfully. Migration planning
HP will configure the necessary migration tools and execute the methodology for data migration from the source storage array to the HP 3PAR Storage array per the mutually agreed-upon migration plan. Consultants will leverage remote access whenever possible.
