Upcoming Schedule and Probable Pitchers

Heating Up: Brandon Drury has hit three home runs over his last five games. During this stretch, Drury is 9-for-20 (.450) with eight RBIs, three HR, three doubles, two walks, and one strikeout. Wilfredo

Tovar has hit three home runs in his last six games played. Close but No Cigar: 12 of Syracuse’s last 13 games have been decided by three runs or less. Tuesday’s 9-5 win for Syracuse was the only one not decided by three runs or less. Syracuse is 2-10 in the 12 games decided by three runs or less. Four of those games went to extra innings (SYR: 1-3 record). Syracuse has held a lead in seven of its last 13 games.

The Streak is Over: Syracuse ended its season-long 15-game losing streak last Friday night with a 9-8 win over Buffalo. It was the second-longest losing streak on record in franchise history. Syracuse, behind a 21-game losing streak in 1953.

Maybe Not as Bad as it Seemed: During Syracuse’s 15-game losing streak, the Mets had the lead at one point in eight of the 15 games. 10 of the 15 games were decided by three runs or fewer, including three of the last four games of the losing streak being decided by one run.

Bring in the Reinforcements: J.D. Davis and Jonathan Villar are the two remaining players on Major League rehab assignments with Syracuse. J.D. Davis rejoined Syracuse on June 30th. Davis was originally placed on New York’s injured list on May 3rd with a left hand sprain. Davis played in four games with Syracuse before pausing his rehab assignment from a setback. Infielder Jonathan Villar also joined Syracuse on June 30th. Villar was placed on the injured list on June 25th with a right calf strain.

Send back the Reinforcements: Syracuse has already had Jeff

McNeil, Michael Comforto, Albert Almora Jr., Tomás Nido, Brandon Nimmo, and Jeurys Familia complete rehab assignments

with the team over the last month.

League Leaders: Syracuse leads the Triple-A East League with 65 stolen bases, 10 more than Worcester, the next closest team…The Mets are second in the league lead defensively in double plays with 49, behind Omaha (51)…César Puello is tied for 16th in the league with eight stolen bases (Six with Worcester and two with

Syracuse)…Drew Jackson is tied for sixth in the league with 28 walks and ranks 11th with a .389 on-base percentage…Khalil Lee ranks tied for 10th with 25 walks…Jesús Reyes is second in the league with 57.1 IP and tied for seventh with 51 strikeouts… Franklyn Kilomé has the only complete-game shutout thrown in the league this season.

Mets Dig the Long Ball: Syracuse has hit 53 home runs this season, scoring 89 total runs from those homers. That accounts for 38% of Syracuse’s run production this season (233 runs).

Capacity Updates: Beginning this homestand, NBT Bank Stadium capacity is nearly 100%. All but three sections will be at 100% with those three sections having socially-distanced seating for fans who are more comfortable in that setting. 549 seats will be “buffer seats” in the socially-distanced sections as NBT Bank Stadium’s capacity is 10,266 (95%) out of full capacity of 10,815.
