Brief
We need a confident, dynamic, well-motivated person to maintain our Linux network that spans 3 countries: New Zealand, Australia and the United Kingdom. As 90% of our business is derived from our website and IT is important this is a business critical role. Work for the successful candidate will vary from installing new computers to co-ordinating foreign outsource service providers delivering projects. You will report to the General Manager and will support marketing, IT and general business development each looking for new and exciting ways to exploit new technologies.

companies supported in Australia. Established since 2002, the company has grown to service public and private sector clients worldwide, from offices situated in London and Brisbane. We rely heavily on IT, and are known for providing leading edge functionality and communication via email, sms and our website.

Crazy Colour has four core areas of business:
• Training advice and selling management courses (through a number of mediums including our online database)
• Publishing (Crazy Colour Cards and Crazy Colour CD-ROMs)
• Project Management training
• Management/Project consulting
• We also run an online store offering Crazy Colour Cards, business management books and software.

The role
You will be focused on ensuring smooth running of all IT aspects of the organisation including website services and intranet service provision (i.e. CRM, LDAP and email serviced). This includes managing our company’s portfolio of IT projects, providing desktop and IT trouble-shooting support for your colleagues. As the centre of
knowledge for IT functions you will be expected to juggle projects answer ad-hoc IT questions while managing risks, and use your initiative to anticipate problems. A mature and well-paced work style would be preferred with an emphasis on accuracy and
professionalism. Training will be provided initially to familiarise you with our IT network. We outsource many projects and our customer base is global so you will need to be culturally aware and confident in dealing with people in different countries. We operate a non-smoking environment. This is a full time position in which you will be required to work 38 hours on a salary basis, reporting regularly.
This role is detailed in an Australian Workplace Agreement, is expected to have an immediate start and remuneration will be based on skill level and experience.
Where will the job be based?
We are located in Bardon, in the central northern suburbs. There is plenty of parking, and public transport is a short walk away with buses every 15 minutes.
Work scope
We currently have a portfolio of IT-related projects, these include: 1) Implementation of the company’s Wiki intranet
2) A new website launch (late October) 3) Upgrading our web-based CRM package 4) Testing and maintaining backup recovery plans
5) Establishing a corporate security plan for passwords and data access 6) Running training for our staff on the use of software.
In addition work will include the following broad categories: 7) Maintain the company’s intranet and website
8) Suggest and manage improvements to the company's intranet/Internet offerings 9) Provide training to staff regarding the use of our web-based CRM/wiki and other
on-line services
10) Work alongside staff members with IT and non-IT backgrounds
11) Carry out all administration functions for our (Redhat/Ubuntu) Linux network. You will be expected to work alongside contractors and other organisations to ensure the work is delivered on time and within budget. Some of these projects may involve skills you do not already have and will need to learn quickly. Training in project management will occur on the job and will eventually involve certification.
When presented with a problem you will be expected to establish a firm grasp of the details and then, if necessary and following extensive research, propose a number of solutions.
In this role you will manage all aspects of our on-line presence, both supporting staff and customers:
• vTiger CRM package, e.g. producing reports, administering access
• Maintaining functionality and improvements of the Crazy Colour course database
• Crazy Colour on-line store – improvements and administration
• Crazy Colour website – uptime monitoring and create documentation
• Crazy Colour Wiki intranet – train staff in use and functions.
• Help create and send company newsletters along side the marketing manager.

Core responsibilities
• Manage day-to-day website requests
• Regularly report on statistics of website visits, network uptime etc.
• Co-ordinate/communicate between time zones, languages and countries
• Deliver to deadlines and report on work done.
Additional responsibilities
• Training for staff (some remote training of UK & NZ staff)
• Produce documentation for both clients and staff
• Track requests for improvements to services.
The successful applicant will possess:
• Experience in Linux administration
• Tertiary qualification in IT or related discipline.
• Ability to maintain a broad organisational focus while coordinating disparate projects and deadlines
• High level of planning, organisation skills and project management experience from initial brief, through concept development to delivery of final product • Excellent written and verbal communications skills.
