This month we will be going with some parts of Fr. Louis’ childhood.
Today I will be rambling about my favorite shows growing up.
When I was very young all I remember from the television were
mostly the cartoons. I grew up in the 90s so many of those cartoons were my favorites. From almost my first memory I remember that I was
always playing Ninja Turtles.
I remember that I would watch the TV show all the time and I
remember having some Ninja Turtle toys. My favorite one was the purple one, Donatello, and my brother’s favorite one was the blue one, Leonardo. I do not know why Donatello was my favorite since that is the one everyone hates. His martial arts weapon was simply
a stick, but for some reason he was my favorite. My parents said they once took me to a nice restaurant when I was very young and I grabbed the fork and knife and made a ruckus yelling “Ninja Turtles!” I also remember watching a lot of Power Rangers, Pokemon,
and Dragonball Z. I’m sure any kid that grew up here in the United States in the 90s could relate to what I grew up watching. I still have fond memories of these shows but as a
child my parents said that Ninja Turtles were definitely my favorites as a very young child.

Have you ever begged God in prayer to heal you or a loved one? Have you
prayed to Him over and over to help you get
through something?
Did you ask God to help you play well in your baseball or
soccer game? Have you asked God to please help you get an A on a test? We all seem to turn to God for our different needs, but how often do we turn to God with
our gratitude? In today’s Gospel only one of the ten people Jesus cured from the deadly disease of leprosy came back to Him to thank Him. Were the other nine that Jesus cured not grateful? I don’t think so. They probably just excitedly went to their family and friends
to celebrate. We too can forget to thank God for our blessings because we’re busy living our lives. This week,
at the beginning of each day, let’s commit to thanking God for one thing we are blessed with – do it in the car
on your way to work or school!

programa, visite www.californiadiocesesicp.com.
The Archdiocese is participating in an Independent Compensation Program for Victim-Survivors of Sexual Abuse of Minors by Priests - The Archdiocese
of Los Angeles, along with five other dioceses in California, is participating in an independent program
to offer persons who were victims of abuse as minors by diocesan priests, access to compensation as well as
access to counseling services if they chose. Those harmed many years ago and barred from filing lawsuits because of civil statutes of limitations will be
eligible to make claims under the Independent Compensation Program for Victim-Survivors of Sexual
Abuse of Minors by Priests. The Archdiocese’s participation in the program is part of a long-standing
commitment to supporting and compensating victims of abuse, the protection of children and the vulnerable, and the prevention of abuse and misconduct in Catholic parishes, schools and ministries. Nationally recognized mediators and
private compensation program administrators, Kenneth R. Feinberg and Camille S. Biros will administer the program. Funding for the program in our Archdiocese will come from self-insured reserves,
monies set aside for this purpose. We pray that this new program might provide another avenue toward healing and hope. For information about the program
please visit www.californiadiocesesicp.com.
