As a part of Sudanese renal transplantation council, I've been sent by ministry of health Khartoum state for training period in tissue typing field at Royal London Hospital, the period started 01/03/2002. Royal London hospital is internationally well known hospital serves east London area, beside medical students of Queens marry college ( university of London), the laboratory section is consisting of different department, hematology, chemical pathology, microbiology, and tissue typing. The load of inpatient is approximately 300 beds, and very busy outpatients clinic in different specialties, also there is helicopter landing area for receiving organs from cadaver donors. The tissue typing laboratory containing two sections molecular biology section and immunology section, I used to be trainee under supervision of Dr Daniel Mac Closkey who is the principal of tissue typing laboratory and adviser of Sudanese council of renal transplantation, I came across different equipments and special test such as PCR technique to detect different classes of major histocompatibility antigens (MHC), and immunological technique using fluorescent microscope, ELISA, and FACS analysis.
2-Ahmed Gasim for Open Heart Surgery and Renal Transplantation
The hospital is mainly specializing in cardiology and renal transplantation; it is teaching hospital consisting of 150 beds. Patients are monitored by highly skilled qualified experienced medical staff holding post graduate degrees. The center serves all patients coming from up and down the country. Hematology laboratory main duties are; receiving sample for coagulation test and monitoring warfarin and heparin level for the heart patients, full blood count, and also cardiac enzymes, liver function tests, and renal function tests. I used to be senior of the hematology laboratory from 04/01/2000 to 28/02/2002.
3-Police Hospital
By finishing my bachelor degree study and as a part of rotation shift I did join to Police hospital as medical laboratory technologist , I've been trained in different laboratory departments; hematology and blood banking, chemical pathology, microbiology, and histopathology, the investigations which being carried were routine one, but there were advanced generation equipments such as Sysmex coulter, and auto analyzer. The load of the work was moderately busy from different categories of patients.
