Korarima (Aframomum corrorima) is one of the native crops in Ethiopia which is used as spice and medicinal purpose. As indigenous spice, Aframomum corrorima grows in various regions of the country (Jansen, 1981; Edossa, 1998; Girma, et al., 2009b). Capsules and/or seeds are the economic parts of the plant (Edossa, 1998; Wondyifraw, 2004; Girma et al., 2008). The spice has widespread utilization in Ethiopian and nearby countries. It is obtained from the plant's seeds (usually dried). It has been part of daily Ethiopian dish in preparation of curry powder for culinary purposes. It is mostly harvested from wildly grown plants in the forests of many places of Western, South and Southwestern parts of Ethiopia. The dried fruit mixture of different clones is sold on almost every Ethiopian market in the production areas (Kohl and Uhl, 1985). The seeds are used in Ethiopia to flavor all kinds of sauces locally for which they are ground and usually mixed with other spices (Jansen, 2002; Eyob, 2009; Zenebe, 2002). The essential oil of Aframomum corrorima seeds has a typical odor, and is therefore, sometimes called ‘nutmeg - cardamom’ (Eyob et al., 2007). Thus, the seeds are also used medicinally in Ethiopia (Wondyifraw, 2004; Hymete et al., 2006; Zenebe, 2004).
Acmella oleracea (L.) R.K. Jansen (Asteraceae), popularly known in Brazil as Jambu is a vegetable distributed in tropical and subtropical regions, with important chemical properties. Its leaves and flowers are used in traditional medicine with antioxidant and cytotoxic. The present study aims to evaluate the chemical composition of crude aqueous from the extract of the leaves of A. oleracea its antioxidant potential against the radical DPPH and cytotoxic potential front of the larvae of Artemia Salina. The aqueous crude extract was obtained from this dilution in distilled water and submitted to hydrodistillation .The evaluation of antioxidant activity, was based on the methodology through the sequestering capacity of DPPH. There was prepared a methanol solution of DPPH at the concentration of 40µg/mL. The EBA Acmella oleracea was diluted with methanol at the following concentrations (5/2.5 /1.0/0.75/0.5 and 0.25 mg/mL). The cytotoxicity assay with A. salina was based on the technique of Araújo et al. (2010) and Lôbo et al. (2010) with adaptations. The preliminary phytochemical analysis of crude aqueous extract of the leaves of A. oleracea showed the presence of saponins, organic acids, reducing sugar, phenols, alkaloids, steroids and triterpenoids. A. oleracea showed reduction activity on the DPPH directly proportional to extract concentration using the (DE50%=2.76mg). The data show the effective and lethal concentration CL50 of 730.85µg/mL from EBA A.oleracea on A. salina. Based on these results it is concluded that the EBA of A.oleracea leaves presents in its chemical composition secondary metabolites with antioxidant and / or cytotoxic action.
ABSTRACT:- I decided to implement linkage based locomotive systems on standard load carrying tippers and trucks as a replacement for the conventional tyres. The first mechanism which I came across for such purpose was Klann mechanism which actually mimics the motion of the biological organism (crab). On observing further in detail I found that there were lot of drawbacks with the Klann mechanism, the drawbacks being jerky motion and difficulty in the turning of the vehicle. The next step to be taken was to find a better mechanism which had a smooth walking pattern on any given terrain and could easily function as per requirements. The most flexible mechanism which I settled with is THEO-JANSEN MECHANISM (STRANDBEEST). My final contribution would be to do compressive load analysis to determine the load carrying capacity of the system and compare it with that of a standard wheel based truck or tipper. Finally, all vehicles must be controlled - by a human or other means. Therefore it is necessary to investigate methods of controlling such vehicles.

In order to perform the analysis of motion of modified Theo Jansen leg, we focused on increasing the stride height without influencing the balancing of the whole. Based on the standard proportionate dimensions we take the reading of the length travelled by leg and also how much it lifts upward. But when model assembled there will be problem of balancing .So we changes the dimensions of various links and note the height and stride length of leg.
In this article, we focus on the Jansen and Rit neural mass model (JR-NMM) , which has been introduced as a model in the context of human electroencephalog- raphy (EEG) rhythms and visual evoked potentials . It dates back to the work of Lopes da Silva and Van Rotterdam [3, 5, 15]. The JR-NMM is a biologically motivated convolution-based model of a neuronal population involving two subpop- ulations, i.e. excitatory and inhibitory interneurons forming feedback loops, which can describe background activity, alpha activity, sporadic and also rhythmic epileptic activity.

out of PVC that are able to move on their own, known only as Strandbeest Since 1990, Theo Jansen has been engaged in creating new forms of life: beach animals made from yellow plastic tubing. Skeletons made from these tubes are able to walk, deriving their nutrition from the wind. They evolved over many generations, becoming increasingly adept at surviving storms and water from the sea. Theo Jansen's ultimate wish is to release herds of these animals on the shore .
A well supported estimation of a species tree is often a useful precursor for guiding conservation and management decisions (Crandall et al. 2000). Phylogenetic analysis finds significant support for a west African red duiker lineage that contains C. rubidus, a geographically-restricted taxon that is commonly treated as a subspecies of C. nigrifrons, a east African red duiker. This observation lends additional strength to Jansen van Vuuren & Robinson's (2001) recommendation that this taxon should be managed independent form C. nigrifrons and its conservation status should be elevated from threatened to endangered. (Kingdon 1997). Furthermore, the relationship between C. callipygus and CITES protected species C. ogilbyi is problematic. Inclusion of nuclear data lends further support to the paraphyletic relationship of these taxa and suggests that C. ogilbyi may be a morphotype of C. callipygus, although hybridization and incomplete lineage sorting cannot be ruled out. It seems unlikely that any marker will be able to differentiate these two taxa, posing a challenge to the regulation of the bushmeat trade (Eaton et al. 2009, Johnston et al. 2011) or wildlife monitoring studies of field collected feces (Ntie et al. 2010).

S. salar. A study by Bakke et al. found that S. trutta exposed to infected fins of S. salar for 24 h and subse- quently held in isolation eliminated their G. salaris infec- tions in less than two weeks, suggesting that they could be innately resistant. Harris et al. also considered S. trutta to be innately resistant to G. salaris when, after exposing groups of fish to infected S. salar fins for 24 h, the fish lost their infections within 42 days. In a survey by Jansen and Bakke , anadromous S. trutta from the River Lierelva were cohabited with heavily infected S. salar from the Lierelva for five days, and then either isolated and held in- dividually or maintained as a group. In both cases, the in- fections of G. salaris on the S. trutta persisted for approximately 49 days p.i. In a repeat trial using a stock of S. trutta from Lake Tunhovd, Norway, the infection of G. salaris on the isolated S. trutta (n = 21) persisted for 28 days, whilst the infection on grouped fish (n = 21) lasted for 21 days p.i. These trials suggested that S. trutta can serve as a carrier for disseminating the parasite, al- though it is not able to support an infection with G. salaris for long periods .

Each explanation sentence is represented as a single row from a semi-structured table defined around a particu- lar relation. Our tablestore includes 62 such tables, each centered around a particular relation such as taxonomy, meronymy, causality, changes, actions, requirements, or af- fordances, and a number of tables specified around specific properties, such as average lifespans of living things, the magnetic properties of materials, or the nominal durations of certain processes (like the Earth orbiting the Sun). The initial selection of table relations was drawn from a list of 21 common relations required for science explanations identified by Jansen et al. (2016) on a smaller corpus, and expanded as new knowledge types were identified. Subsets of example tables are included in Figure 2. Each explana- tion in this corpus contains an average of 6.3 rows.
The n-stage FSRs constructed in Corollary 1 generates only short cycles of lengths at most 4n. An example of such FSRs is given in Example 1. These FSRs are good candidates for the cycle joining algorithms proposed in and in this paper. In the following, we consider the number of full cycles constructed from them by using the cycle joining algorithms. We use the fact about minimum Hamming distance of Reed-Muller codewords, which is suggested by Jansen et al. . We proceed by proving that two different characteristic functions give rise to two different de Bruijn sequences. First, we need the following lemma for the proof of the theorem.

While most current studies concentrated on the problem of market competition of enterprises given a specific profit target exogenously, this paper investigated each retailer’s endogenous choice of a profit strategy in a mixed duopoly with homogeneous goods composed of two private retailers. More precisely, we in- vestigated the situation in which both retailers endogenously choose either a rel- ative profit strategy or a pure profit strategy in the market competition in the fashion of Jansen . Our research proved Jansen’s conclusion that firm can make more profits by pursuing relative profit when the rival chase for pure prof- it maximization. But there are some different conclusion compared with his re- search, and it is our theoretical contribution to this issue.

Many published reports state that results achieved dur- ing the fi rst post-procedural month or after the last touch-up when needed remain almost unchanged until 12 months. After 12–18 months, the achieved volumes begin to dimin- ish, though some results can be noted 24 months post injec- tion. The average longevity therefore could be considered to be 12–18 months (Tzikas 2004; Kanchwala et al 2005; Broder and Cohen 2006; Jacovella 2006; Jacovella et al 2006; Jansen and Graivier 2006; Silvers et al 2006). Longer duration of effect, up to 24 months, can be seen in some patients, with a touch-up at the 12th month of half the amount injected the fi rst time (Felderman 2005; Jacovella 2006).
