The system uses three different technologies to achieve the desired result. They are Radio Frequency Identification technology (RFID), face recognition and Internet of Things (IoT). The attendance monitoring process involves detecting the RFID tags of students in the class using a long-range RFID reader and then confirming the identity using face recognition. The teacher can control the system using a GUI provided in his phone or PC. The system will generate the list of students who are present and absent in the class. This data is then uploaded to a server from which both the students and teachers can access this data anytime. All the students are given an RFID tag mounted identity card. Possession of this identity card is mandatory to secure attendance. The data regarding the id card and face data of individual students have to be stored in a database at the beginning of the academic year. It is this database that is used for comparison and awarding attendance.

It also has the provision for removing the items from the trolley where the cost is removed from the total cost .Once the items are added, the cost is added up and when it crosses the certain limit, it gives an alarm signal to indicate that the customer budget has exceeded. All this information is send to a computer for billing update through wireless link called Zigbee network, which facilitate the billing system even faster and reduces time.

ABSTRACT: Applicability of Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) system which is a new generation of Auto Identification and Data collection technology in a future Smart Library Management System is presented in this paper. It helps to automate business processes and allows identification of large number of tagged objects like books, using radio waves. In existing system barcode and token card system were used. Barcodes have no read/write capabilities; they do not contain any added information such as expiry date etc. and it needs line of sight, less security and it also can easily damaged. By using token card system, they are very labor intensive and work process for the librarians was more. By considering the above demerits in the existing systems, the proposed Smart RFID system , which is a wireless non-contact system that uses radio frequency to transfer data from a tag attached to an object, for the purpose of automatic identification and tracking. RFID doesn’t need the line of sight, it remove manual book keeping of records, improved utilization of resources like manpower, infrastructure etc. Also less time consumption as line of sight and manual interactions are not needed for RFID Tag reading.
