Keeping this in view, the concept of innovational practices in the construction sector is introduced under the category of construction management. This study applies the concept of innovation management in the construction industry by studying the major components of the innovation process that include the major drivers of innovation, barriers and obstacles that prevent innovation, the enablers that motivate innovation, the practices of innovation, and the benefits of innovation on project and firm level. This paper aims to analyze the in- fluence of the innovation process on the project performance in the construction industry. To achieve the aforementioned aim goals, the factors that affect the innovation process were studied and analyzed after measuring them through the AHP (AnalyticalHierarchyProcess) method, The contribution of each construction organization (contractor, consultant, project management, and owner) was determined. The weight of each organizational involve- ment was measured based on the ranking of innovation factors for that particular organiza- tion. This study is unique in the sense that it analyzes the factors that affect the innovation performance (driver factors, enablers factors, barriers factors, input factors) with a powerful multi-criteria decision making tool. It also quantifies the impact of each innovation factor for different organization types. Finally, a unique solution is proposed in order to enhance the innovation process in the construction industry.
Transportation is one of the inevitable and in-disposable shipment facilities for the huge number of people in our world. In our day to day life plenty number of segmented people use their own conveyance for any type of shipment. In our study we used to find which type of shipment is economical and also convenient for the lower and middle class people. For that here we identified three of mass transportation method much be appreciated for the people in huge mass. The three types of public transportation means are Metrorail, Monorail and Bus Rapid Transport System (BRTS). In this paper we took 19 cities into account for the above said transportation. Our aim is to find which mode of transportation is economical and viable in the cities for the people, to obtain a conclusion we identified ten attributes for measuring the mode of public transportation. From the plenty number of websites data has been taken for the respective attributes for 19 cities the semantic table and the tuples available are vital for our observation and identification. Here we employed two methodologies in terms with the Random Process Theory (RTP) and AnalyticalHierarchyProcess (AHP) which is ever been used in this segment and this is the first time we proposed such a type of a phenomenal methodology for the past one and half decades in this field of public transportation.
AnalyticalHierarchyProcess (AHP) is a practical and effective method used for solving a wide variety of Multi- criteria decision making problems. AHP was introduced by Thomas L. Saaty in 1980 [9], AHP organises the basic rationality by decomposing the problem into smaller constituent parts [5]. By breaking the decision problem, AHP enables decision maker to focus on limited number of criteria at a time. AHP also enables decision maker to compare both qualitative and quantitative criteria. There are three phases in AHP: defining the decision problem, structuring the hierarchy and finally evaluating the components in the hierarchy. AHP is a multi-level hierarchical model with the goal of the system in the top, criteria and sub-criteria in the middle and the alternatives in the bottom of the hierarchy [5] as shown in Figure 1.
ABSTRACT: The roads are not perfect in their functions due to the lack of proper maintenance and it makes the city more traffic congested. Decision makers often perform pavements repairs without considering the maintenance priority and without utilizing a systematic procedure. The analyticalhierarchyprocess (AHP) is one of the most effective techniques in decision making process, which is used to facilitate the prioritization of alternatives on basis of important parameters or criteria affecting the pavement rehabilitation, which are mainly based on cost and benefit point of views. In this study, some basic scoring rules were introduced to convert the qualitative factors into a quantitative scale and with the help of comparison matrix the weightage of each of these factors were determined. Finally a priority ranking is obtained from the benefit to cost analysis. As a case study the Perinthalmanna municipality (India) was selected and the total area was divided into 6 zones according to the land use. The benefit to cost ratio were analyzed to determine the maintenance priority of the zones. It was concluded that based on the existing conditions, the rating approach in AHP method prioritized the impaired sections for maintenance easily and effectively.
Grading the poor helps the government to establish a better policy to distribute resources more reasonably, and therefore provide a government aid to the deserving families more effectively. The traditional single-factor model (Income and consumption expenditure model) is not adequate, because poverty grade analysis involves various factors of different weights. Some factors cannot be analysed by classical algorithm namely income – expenditure and consumption model. In this paper we establish a multi-criteria decision model (MCDM). We use fuzzy triangular analyticalhierarchyprocess (FTAHP) to analyse poverty. We determine the indexes of poverty grade according to maximum membership degree which is derived from the Fuzzy AHP- Fuzzy Triangular Numbers comparison criteria importance matrices .In this way we quantify the qualitative data.

Crab (crab) is one of the fishery products that is generally perishable. This is likely due to poor handling that decreases the quality. This research aims to determine factors that can affect the quality of crab and recommend a priority strategy most appropriate to apply quality control on crab handling at PT Tonga Tiur Putra in expanding its business. The present research uses AHP (AnalyticalHierarchyProcess) method. Three decision-makers in PT. Tonga Tiur Putra were taken as respondents. Analysis factor reveals that factor affecting the quality of crab meat is transportation. The proper alternative to control the quality of crab is human resource training.
ABSTRACT: Globalization and peer’s competition have forced industries to deliver what customer wants and even further, what will delight them. Technology innovation has created more awareness that customer has full knowledge on product and freebies offered. This has indirectly reflected on industry’s profit and industries are concentrating the best possible method to overcome it. Manufacturing industries are applying many methods to improve their profit. Controlling input material usage is one of the major tasks. This study analyzes the manufacturing industry’s operational process to achieve zero defect products, which reduce the raw materials wastage, increase productivity and profitability. It analysis the operation of beverage industry in India and prioritized them using AnalyticalHierarchyprocess (AHP). All critical operational quality parameters are analyzed and suitable actions recommended.
The collected data were used to develop a model for operations with respect to emergency fire responses using AnalyticalHierarchyProcess (AHP). AnalyticalHierarchyProcess (AHP) uses hierarchical structures to model problems (starting with objectives, criteria, sub criteria, and alternatives) and then develop priorities for alternatives to aid decision making. Especially when faced with a complex problem having multiple conflicting and subjective criteria (Lai et al., 2002).For AHP model development the governing equations applied are presented by Equations 1-4 (Bovwe et al., 2016). Equation (1) presents the structure of a pair wise comparison matrix, A which is the first step in AHP model development after the problem modeling has been established. This involves stating the major objective, criteria and sub-criteria of the proposed model (Brunelli,, 2015).
This paper mostly refers to the finding of a TTO research project conducted by Center of System and was enriched by strategic analysis and design using an AnalyticalHierarchyProcess (AHP) to achieve system reason and comprehensive solution. In the year 2017–2019, the authors studied the development of the shallot paste startup industry in Java-Indonesia. Authors as a team from Center of System were assigned by Central Bank of Indonesia as a consultant in the conceptual design phase and mentoring for the implementation phase of shallot paste business development. At the implementation phase, consultant carried out the function of TTO to service startup agro-based industry.
The main objective is to improve the decision making process for the supply chain management in the construction industry .The objective can be broken down into the following components (i) Identify the bottlenecks in the current decision making process for material management process.(ii)Develop responses to the bottlenecks in current practices. This will require identifying in greater detail about the decision nodes in the construction supply chain management process. (iii)Identify the Parameters, alternatives and Performance measures for each decision node.(iv)Ranking the Parameters which affect the decision nodes using AnalyticalHierarchyprocess.(v)Based on the factors importance, which Performance measures need to be account for accurate decision making during material management process can be found out. Analysis and profiling of the selection problem and the identification of the solution method’s desirable capabilities, triggered the consideration of analytic hierarchyprocess AHP [5] as a possible basis for the selection of parameters and performance measures.
Abstract: Today, an increasing number of people are suffering from chronic hypertensive disease. In addition, there are more and more medications available to treat hypertension, which makes it difficult for doctors to choose the one that is most beneficial for the patient. This research is a good reference for beginner medical doctors, since it combines the opinions of six consultants in this field, based on their experience. The aim of this study was to prioritize the different medications available to treat chronic hypertension using a multi-criteria decision-making tool called the analyticalhierarchyprocess (AHP). This tool was applied to two common cases of hypertension, with surveys being filled out by six expert medical consultants. This model used four different medications and six criteria. The averages of the survey results were determined so that all the expert doctors acted as one in this study. There were seven steps to the AHP, and the results prioritized each of the medications for the two cases. The result was a priority vector for each alternative in each case, showing the percentage for each alternative.
The AnalyticalHierarchyProcess (AHP) was introduced and developed [8]. AHP is a multi-criteria decision-making approach, which divides the issue into an issue hierarchy, which should be considered at work. This methodology considers a set of selected criteria and attributes in which the best solution is to determine the weight of the criteria and attributes. It should be noted that AHP uses quantitative and qualitative data. AHP is a theory by comparing pairs of measurements. Pairwise comparison methods are used to compare the criteria and attributes and determine their importance to each other. Comparisons were made using a scale of absolute judgment that represents a measure of control over the other elements with respect to a given attribute.
Abstract: There are many potential and good open source software (OSS) products available on the market with a free license. However, with various choices, the adoption rate is still low among potential users because there is not an agreed acceptable set of criteria to evaluate and select various OSS. The criteria of selection may differ between the stakeholders within the organisations. There is a tendency that the user may have a biased perception of an OSS’s characteristics or capabilities for solving problems when selecting OSS products. Other restrictions are caused by inadequate documentation and user manuals, and immature products. Therefore, the users need to consider how to improve their decision making when selecting the most suitable OSS products. In this paper, the background research on the proposed OSS adoption and criteria of selection are discussed and explored. Then the research methodology, processes and implementation of the My Open Source Software Toolkit (MyOSST) v1.0 are covered. The analyticalhierarchyprocess (AHP) was applied on the selection process and for the purpose of assisting the potential user to decide on the OSS products based on their preferred selection criteria. MyOSST v1.0 was tested and validated by IT professionals in one of the Malaysian universities. The results show that the tool is capable of assisting the decision making process for selecting an appropriate OSS product.
Abstract:Over the past decade wireless multi-hop ad-hoc networks have received a tremendous amount of research focus.In wireless ad-hoc networks a new routing scheme for congestion control is proposed as called Novel Routing Approach. This method adopts reinforcement learning framework to route the data from Source to Destination in the absence of detailed knowledge of entire channel.It proceeds with the overview of routing protocols used in the MANETS their properties and simulation methods. This paper introduces a new routing scheme developed by the use of evolutionary algorithms (EA) and analyticalhierarchyprocess (AHP) is used for getting the optimized output of MANET. Congestion is elastic traffic that degrades the result of the entire network. The concept of multi-hop ad-hoc networking was successfully applied in many classes of networks In order to predict the future congestion situation a relevant estimation is designed for each forwarder node and our proposed algorithm (ABCC) Agent Based Congestion Control routing protocol. In this paper cryptographic technique caser cipher is also employed for making the optimized route secure. This is achieved by both sufficiently exploring the network using data packets and exploiting the best routing opportunities.
The research applies a multi-criteria decision-making model that can be used to prioritize medical devices and establish guidelines for choosing the right maintenance strategy using the method of AnalyticalHierarchyProcess (AHP). This method has been selected for extensive application in various industries and quality are evident in determining the priority selection that includes assessment experts both on the proposed criteria. The purpose of this study is to determine the criteria and criteria for medical devices and the criticality scores of each devices so that the priority scale can be determined to make maintenance decisions at JEC Eye Hospital in Jakarta.
One of the key activities of any client is contractor selection. Without a suitable and precise me- thod for selecting the best contractor, the completion of a project will likely be affected. In this study, we examine the use of the analyticalhierarchyprocess (AHP) as a decision-support model for contractor selection. This model can assist project management teams in identifying contrac- tors who are most likely to deliver satisfactory outcomes in a selection process that is not based simply on the lowest bid. In this study, an AHP-based model is tested using a hypothetical scenario in which candidate contractors are evaluated. Six criteria for the primary objective are evaluated. The criteria used for contractor selection in the model are identified, and the significance of each criterion is determined using a questionnaire. Comparisons are made by ranking the aggregate score of each candidate based on each criterion, and the candidate with the highest score is deemed the best. This study contributes to the construction sector in two ways: first, it extends the understanding of selection criteria to include degrees of importance, and second, it implements a multi-criteria AHP approach, which is a new method for analyzing and selecting the best contractor.
Background: This paper discusses the factors of production that affected the production quantity. These factors have many problems and effect for production planning, so that must be solved immediately. Because to keep the production stable or more increase, companies have to rank the production factor problems to know which one more importance and should be resolved first. However, to choose the priority should not be based on intuition but need through understanding of the decision problem and the process to prioritize the factor. Therefore, This problem can be viewed as a multi criteria decision making problem. Because of that, this study proposes AnalyticalHierarchyProcess (AHP) method for solving this problem. AHP is method for multi criteria decision making which is using quantitative and qualitative approach. Objective: This study aims is to facilitate the manager of production for analysis the problems and making the right decision with prioritization the problem (production factors). The results: the priority factor that influences the production quantity is the internal factor. The ranking factor are capital, labour, raw materials and technology and machinery. Conclusion: The result of this study gives more clear information about factor production, which is so problematic that the company easier to make a decision and the AHP method is suitable for resolving the production problem.
The AHP has been applied in various complex decision making situations with its unique features of choice selection of one alternative from a set of alternatives. Prioritization/evaluation for determining the relative merit of a set of alternatives and benchmarking of processes or systems with other, known processes or methods [10] AnalyticalhierarchyProcess, introduced by Thomas Saaty (1980), is an effective tool for dealing with complex decision maker to set priorities and make the best decision. By reducing complex decisions to a series of pair wise comparisons, and then synthesizing the results, the AHP helps to capture both subjective and objective aspects of decisions.
